13 * SASL authentication/authorization mapping
14 * SASL in-directory storage of authentication secrets
15 * Enhanced administrative limits/access controls
16 * LDAP backend (experimental)

18 * Monitor backend (experimental)
19 * Virtual "glue" backend (experimental)
21 * Updated LDAP C and TCL APIs
22 * LDAPv3 extensions, including:
23 - Enhanced Language Tag/Range Support
24 - 'Who am i?' Extended Operation
26 - 'Matched Values' Control
28 This release includes the following major components:
30 * slapd - a stand-alone LDAP directory server
31 * slurpd - a stand-alone LDAP replication server
32 * -lldap - a LDAP client library
33 * -llber - a lightweight BER/DER encoding/decoding library
34 * LDIF tools - data conversion tools for use with slapd
35 * LDAP tools - A collection of command line LDAP utility programs
37 In addition, there are some contributed components:
39 * LDAPC++ - a LDAP C++ SDK
40 * ldapTCL - a LDAP TCL SDK
42 This release contains a number of major code changes. It
43 might be a bit rough around the edges. Use with appropriate
49 OpenLDAP is developed by a team of volunteers whose use
50 the Internet to coordinate their activities. The project is
51 managed by the OpenLDAP Foundation.
53 OpenLDAP LDAP implementation is derived from University of
54 Michigan LDAP release 3.3.
