   7 This release incorporates the 1.32f-1-weekofmonth and
   8 the 1.32f-2-eom-nextvol patches. A Fedora Core build
   9 define has been added and additional dependency
  10 information has been added to the package Requires.
  11 The virtual package names bacula-dir, bacula-sd and
  12 bacula-fd have been added as Provides and the rescue
  13 package now requires the bacula-fd which can be satisfied
  14 either with the client package or either one of the
  15 main packages.

  18 *This rpm release contains some important changes from 1.32d*

  21 The platform designator (rh7, rh8, rh9) has been
  22 REMOVED from the package names as this was creating
  23 some problems. Hence, you CAN NOT upgrade existing
  24 1.32d installations with these packages (rpm -U).

  26 To upgrade:
  27 1. Backup your configuration files (/etc/bacula/*.conf)
  28 "just to be safe."
  29 2. Uninstall the old bacula package, ie.
  30 rpm -e bacula-mysql-rh9
  31 If you are not sure what package name is installed do
  32 rpm -qa | grep bacula
  33 3. Install the new package with rpm -i
  34
  35 In addition, the spec file has been reworked to include a
  36 platform configuration section at the beginning of the file.
  37 To rebuild the SRPM, first install using rpm -i then edit
  38 /usr/src/redhat/SPECS/bacula.spec (or whatever directory
  39 structure your platform uses) to set platform options and
  40 select whether to build MySQL support. You can also pass
  41 any of the defines on the command line as before.

  47 RedHat 9 and perhaps 8 will continue to be supported for the
  48 forseeable future. Whitebox Enterprise Linux support is
  49 added with this release as I intend to migrate my server
  50 (currently RH8) to that platform. Future releases will probably
  51 add SuSE packages. I may also continue to provide RH8 packages
  52 by setting up a box for that purpose.

  54 There is no intent to provide Fedora Core packages as neither
  55 one of us wishes to get on that upgrade treadmill, however I
  56 expect the SRPM will continue to build on that platform for some
  57 time. Anyone who is interested in building Fedora Core packages
  58 please get in touch with me.

  61 *Rescue script package notes*

  64 This release officially includes the rescue package.
  65 This package installs scripts for disaster recovery and
  66 builds rescue floppy disks for bare metal recovery. This
  67 package includes tomsrtbt (http://www.toms.net/rb/, by
  68 Tom Oehser, Tom@Toms.NET) to provide a tool to build a
  69 boot floppy disk. This package is platform independant as
  70 it only includes shell scripts and a static file daemon.
  71 The tomsrtbt package requires the libc5 compat libraries,
  72 available at
  73 ftp://rpmfind.net/linux/contrib/libc6/i386/libc5-5.4.38-3.i386.rpm

  75 You need to have the bacula-sqlite, bacula-mysql or
  76 bacula-client package for your platform installed and
  77 configured before installing this package. All of these
  78 packages will supply the virtual package bacula-fd which is
  79 a requirement for the rescue package.

  81 After installing the scripts, rpm will run the getdiskinfo
  82 script to create the necessary information for your installation.

  84 To create a boot floppy using this information run
  85 ./make_rescue_disk --copy-static-bacula --copy-etc-files
  86 from the /etc/bacula/rescue directory.

  88 To recreate the disk information run
  89 ./getdiskinfo
  90 from the /etc/bacula/rescue directory.
