  31 Major Changes in 1.38:
  32 - Fixed out of order Volumes in restore.
  33 - Improved algorithm for reserving drives in multiple drive
  34   autochangers. Autochange users MUST use the new Autochanger
  35   resource in the Storage daemon.
  36 - There is a new database format that is not compatible
  37   with previous databases. You must upgrade if converting
  38   from 1.36.x. No changes from version 1.37.30.
  39 - The Director, Storage daemon, and File daemons are
  40   Deamons are not compatible with prior versions.
  41   All FDs must be upgraded at the same time.
  42 - Support for ANSI/IBM labels.
  43 - Faster database inserts due to combining the MD5/SHA1 into
  44   the attributes record, eliminating one INSERT/file backed up.
  45 - Python Event support has been added. See below for
  46   configuration and details. The implementation is somewhat minimal,
  47   so the functionality is not complete. The Python interface
  48   has not been extensively tested, so please consider it BETA.
  49 - DVD writing support, using parts, and some new directives in

  54 - Seven new options keywords in a FileSet resource:
  55   ignorecase, fstype, hfsplussupport, wilddir, wildfile, regexdir,
  56   and regexfile thanks to Pruben Guldberg). See below for details.
  57 - Restore of all files for a Job or set of jobs even if the file
  58   records have been removed from the catalog.
  59 - Restore of a directory (non-recursive, i.e. only one level).

  64 - You may clone a Job and thus write (almost) the same data

  67   also be used to group jobs.
  68 - Unicode filename support for Win32 (thanks to Thorsten Engel)
  69 - Volume Shadow Copy support for Win32 thus the capability to
  70   backup exclusively opened files (thanks to Thorsten Engel).
  71   A VSS enabled Win32 FD is available.  You must explicitly
  72   turn on VSS with "Enable VSS = yes" in your FileSet resource.
  73 - New manual format with an index (thanks to Karl Cunningham).
  74 - New Web site format (thanks to Michael Scherer).
  75 - SQLite3 support.
  76 - Web-bacula, previously a separate project by Juan Luis Frances,
  77   is now included in the Bacula GUI release. This is a management
  78   level tool for reporting the state of Bacula jobs.
  79 - The code is now Internationalized so that it can be localized
  80   in native languages.  Thanks to Nicolas Boichat.

  82 New Directives:
  83 - New Job directive "Prefer Mounted Volumes = yes|no" causes the
  84   SD to select either an Autochanger or a drive with a valid
  85   Volume already mounted in preference. If none is available,
  86   it will select the first available drive.
  87 - New Run directive in Job resource of DIR. It permits
  88   cloning of jobs.  To clone a copy of the current job, use
  89      Run = "job-name level=%l since=\"%s\""
  90   Note, job-name is normally the same name as the job that
  91   is running but there is no restriction on what you put. If you
  92   want to start the job by hand and use job overrides such as
  93   storage=xxx, realize that the job will be started with the
  94   default storage values not the overrides.  The level=%l guarantees
  95   that the chosen level of the job is the same, and the since=...
  96   ensures that the job uses *exactly* the same time/date for incremental
  97   and differential jobs. The since=... is ignored when level=Full.
  98   A cloned job will not start additional clones, so it is not possible
  99   to recurse.
 100 - New Options keywords in a FileSet directive (backported to 1.36.3):
 101   - WildDir xxx
 102     Will do a wild card match against directories (files will not
 103     be matched).
 104   - WildFile xxx
 105     Will do a wild card match against files (directories will not
 106     be matched).
 107   - RegexDir xxx
 108     Will do a regular expression match against directories (files
 109     will not be matched).
 110   - RegexFile xxx
 111     Will do a regular expression match against files( directories
 112     will not be matched).
 113   - IgnoreCase = yes | no
 114     Will ignore case in wild card and regular expression matches.
 115     This is handy for Windows where filename case is not significant.
 116   - FsType = string
 117     where string is a filesystem type: ext2, jfs, ntfs, proc,
 118     reiserfs, xfs, usbdevfs, sysfs, smbfs, iso9660.  For ext3
 119     systems, use ext2.  You may have multiple fstype directives
 120     and thus permit multiple filesystem types.  If the type
 121     specified on the fstype directive does not match the
 122     filesystem for a particular directive, that directory will
 123     not be backed up.  This directive can be used to prevent
 124     backing up non-local filesystems.
 125   - HFS Plus Support = yes | no
 126     If set, Mac OS X resource forks will be saved and restored.
 127 - Label Type = ANSI | IBM | Bacula
 128   Implemented in Director Pool resource and in SD Device resource.
 129   If it is specified in the SD Device resource, it will take
 130   precedence over the value passed from the Director to the SD.
 131 - Check Labels = yes | no
 132   Implemented in the SD Device resource. If you intend to read
 133   ANSI or IBM labels, this *must* be set. Even if the volume
 134   is not ANSI labeled, you can set this to yes, and Bacula will
 135   check the label type.
 136 - Scripts Directory = <directory> name.  Defines the directory from
 137   which Bacula scripts will be called for events. In fact, Bacula
 138   appends this name to the standard Python list of search directories,
 139   so the script could also be in any of the Python system directories.
 140 - In FileSet, you can exclude backing up of hardlinks (if you have
 141   a lot, it can be very expensive), by using:
 142     HardLinks = no
 143   in the Options section. Patch supplied by David R Bosso. Thanks.
 144 - MaximumPartSize = bytes (SD, Device resource)
 145   Defines the maximum part size.
 146 - Requires Mount = Yes/No (SD, Device resource)
 147   Defines if the device require to be mounted to be read, and if it
 148   must be written in a special way. If it set, the following directives
 149   must be defined in the same Device resource:
 150   + Mount Point = directory
 151     Directory where the device must be mounted.
 152   + Mount Command = name-string
 153     Command that must be executed to mount the device. Before the command
 154     is executed, %a is replaced with the Archive Device, and %m with the
 155     Mount Point.
 156   + Unmount Command = name-string
 157     Command that must be executed to unmount the device. Before the
 158     command is executed, %a is replaced with the Archive Device, and
 159     %m with the Mount Point.
 160   + Write Part Command = name-string
 161     Command that must be executed to write a part to the device. Before
 162     the command is executed, %a is replaced with the Archive Device, %m
 163     with the Mount Point, %n with the current part number (0-based),
 164     and %v with the current part filename.
 165   + Free Space Command = name-string
 166     Command that must be executed to check how much free space is left
 167     on the device. Before the command is executed, %a is replaced with
 168     the Archive Device, %m with the Mount Point, %n with the current part
 169     number (0-based), and %v with the current part filename.
 170 - Write Part After Job = Yes/No (DIR, Job Resource, and Schedule Resource)
 171   If this directive is set to yes (default no), a new part file will be
 172   created after the job is finished.
 173 - A pile of new Directives to support TLS. Please see the TLS chapter

 176 New Commands:
 177 - "python restart" restarts the Python interpreter. Rather brutal, make
 178    sure no Python scripts are running. This permits you to change
 179    a Python script and get Bacula to use the new script.

 182 - --with-libintl-prefix for defining alternate locations for
 183   the NLS internationalization libraries. Not normally required.
 184 - --datadir  for defining where the language files will be installed
 185   required only if you do not want the default /usr/share.

 188 - If you use an Autochanger, you MUST update your SD conf file
 189   to use the new Autochanger resource.  Otherwise, certain commands

 193   automatically detected if in the standard place.

 212   AMD64 CPU running 64 bit CentOS4, there is a compiler bug that
 213   generates bad code that causes Bacula to segment fault.
 214   Typically you will see this in the Storage daemon first.  The
 215   solution is to compile Bacula ensuring that no optimization is
 216   turned on (normally it is -O2).
 217   This same compiler bug has been reported and confirmed with
 218   gcc (GCC) 4.0.2 20050901 (prerelease) (SUSE Linux) running on
 219   an AMD64 CPU.  This for the moment, I would recommend that all
 220   users of GCC 4.0.1 or greater turn off all optimization when
 221   compiling.

 225 - Security fixes for temp files created in mtx-changer, during
 226   ./configure, and during making of Rescue disk.
 227 - A new script, dvd-handler, in the scripts directory,
 228   which is designed to be used as parameters to Write Part Command and
 229   Free Space Command. They need the dvd+rw-tools to be installed
 230   (http://fy.chalmers.se/~appro/linux/DVD+RW/) AND, the growisofs
 231   program must be patched using the
 232   <bacula-source>/patches/dvd+rw-tools-5.21.4.10.8.bacula.patch
